Seasoned veteran, Laurens Eckelboom, to lead company expansion and strategy at Tappit.
Tappit, the cashless experts, providing global payment and data ecosystems for sports, events, stadiums and venues, announced today that Laurens Eckelboom has joined the company as Chief Commercial Officer. Laurens has a significant track record in SaaS scale ups – successfully building and growing companies in Europe and the U.S.A. most notably Parkmobile and ParkHub, and Silicon Valley based SAP P&I – increasing the company’s valuation and creating significant shareholder value.
Jason Thomas, Global CEO, Tappit comments “We’re extremely excited for Laurens to join our team as CCO. We are continuing to experience rapid growth, including new partnerships and with Laurens’ expertise and experience, Tappit is poised to continue expanding globally throughout 2022 and beyond.”
A seasoned veteran, Laurens co-founded and held multiple board member seats, including a cutting edge IoT water control company in Atlanta, a scale-up in disruptive gated and multi-mobility access technology in Boston, and an experiential lodging marketplace & payments platform start-up in Atlanta. He has led multiple companies through their early stages into their hyper growth phases, starting Parkmobile in the U.S. together with Albert Bogaard, as Chief Commercial Officer and later Chief Strategy Officer. More recently, Laurens accelerated growth as Chief Revenue Officer for ParkHub.
“I am very excited to join the Tappit team. The potential for the organization is tremendous” said Laurens. “The growth in demand globally for cashless technologies and the huge appetite for the data and insights the Tappit solution provides, means that the organization is uniquely positioned to transform the fan experience, whilst empowering physical spaces to fully understand their visitors and compete with online retail environments. With a strong focus on strategy and flawless execution the company has set itself up for unparalleled growth.”
At a time when in-person interactions are limited, sports teams and live event brands around the world are trusting Tappit with ensuring fans and staff alike still have a great experience as they make their return, all while increasing profits and delivering invaluable data. With multiple partnerships with Major League teams in the U.S. alone, Tappit is providing a cleaner, more seamless payment experience, while equipping brands with invaluable customer insights and data that are impossible to gather through traditional payment methods.
